All applications go into the waiting pool by date of birth: there is no preference given for the date your application is received.

All applications from the waiting pool will be considered equally. Siblings and children of alumni parents are given special consideration in admissions. Other factors such as age and gender, ethnic and socio-economic diversity play a role as well. We also make an effort to bring families from a cross-section of the city.

Sibling enrollment is the greatest factor that influences how many openings are available for each year’s AM Nursery class. Siblings can occupy as few as 8 of the 24 AM Nursery openings, or as many as 18. Sibling enrollment takes place in January 2011, so we are unable to confirm how many openings exist for new applicants before then.

The number of available openings for the PM Nursery and Transitional Kindergarten vary from year to year.

Those applicants not offered placement in the AM Nursery when the first acceptance letters are mailed will be asked to return a wait pool request form, indicating whether or not you wish to remain in the wait pool.

Should an opening occur in the late spring, summer, or fall, only families who have returned a wait pool request form will be considered for placement.
