The PM program is for children who will turn four years old by December 31. For most children, this is their second year of nursery school.
The children are encouraged to continue practicing social skills, including
problem solving and understanding the concepts of friendship and cooperation.
Mastery of fine motor and gross motor skills begin to emerge as the children
use familiar materials in new and creative ways. Projects may involve
more than one step to complete and may extend over more than one class
session. These more challenging experiences help our older preschool children
hone their abilities to concentrate remember and recognize. Children are
given the opportunity to expand their experiences beyond self, home, family
and school by participating in fieldtrips into the community. Some children
graduate from the PM Program and move on to other schools and programs
throughout the city. |
